Location

Located at the beach end of Koorin Dve at Kawana, just south of Mooloolaba, on the Sunshine Coast (an easy one hour drive from Brisbane), this relatively undiscovered region combines all the very best of the top tourist areas with the quiet tranquillity of an uncrowded stretch of beach.

Surfside on the Beach is in walking distance to Kawana Shopping World, restaurants and tennis courts and only a short drive from all the Sunshine Coasts best attractions.

Facilities

Boasting three swimming pools (one heated during winter) and private access to the beach, the resort has 2 ½ acres of landscaped tropical gardens, security undercover parking, gas barbecues and many more features.

There are two Army units at Surfside on the Beach: one 3-bedroom apartment and one 2-bedroom apartment. The two-bedroom unit has a large terrace on the ground floor that leads on to huge grass areas, while the three-bedroom units have large balconies that face towards the ocean.


Eligibility

Those eligible to stay in the Army units are as follows:
  • Army - Regular and Reserve
  • Navy - Regular and Reserve
  • RAAF - Regular and Reserve
  • Retired Defence Personnel
  • Defence Civilians
  • Family of the above (only when eligible member stays)
  • Defence Contractors, Staff of ADCU, Defcredit, DHA and Emergency Services
You will be required to verify your eligibility by providing your APS/Service/PMKeys number, rank and current unit (where applicable) during the booking process. This information will be checked on receipt of your deposit.

Tariffs and Seasons

Units will be let Saturday-to-Saturday. The following tariffs will apply:

Low Season
1 May - 30 Sep 		$490 per week $550 per week

Please note: When enquiring, should the Army apartments be booked and vacancies permit preferential rates apply to eligible members who subsequently elect to holiday at the resort.

Ask for the availability of the "Army" units. Army members can book apartments nine months in advance of their stay; all other members can book six months in advance.

The AAF Company Board has directed that the lease of this property will not be renewed.  Therefore bookings will cease with effect 24 June 2009.

Payment

Defence members will be treated as any other guest with regard to deposit and payment of tariff.

A $100 deposit will be required to secure the booking, and the balance of the tariff must be paid on arrival at the resort.


Length of Stay

To ensure a maximum number of members have the opportunity to use the resort; stays are restricted to one week in duration (Saturday to Saturday) unless specified. Members may elect to extend their stay, if within ten days an apartment has not been booked. Bookings for less than a week may only be made ten days in advance.
